Stories have always been about people for me. Whether I'm writing a heartwarming cozy romance or an engaging cozy mystery, my goal is the same: to create memorable characters, welcoming communities, and stories that leave readers with a sense of hope.
My journey as an author began with a simple gift. What started as stories written for my wife, Holli, and our three daughters has grown into John Russell Stories, a collection of novels celebrating friendship, second chances, courage, and the extraordinary moments hidden within ordinary lives. Today, my books span both cozy romance and cozy mystery, but each one is grounded in the belief that kindness still matters and that hope is always worth holding on to.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy spending time with my family, amateur winemaking, and cheering on my favorite sports teams. I hold a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from National University, but my greatest joy comes from creating stories that readers can escape into and characters they'll remember long after the last page.
